Well I think I have reached the end of the nursery decorating. The room we had to work with is very small coming in at 8×9, perfect size for a nursery or office. I was a bit nervous it wasn’t all going to fit at 1st, but we got it all it.
Take a gander
The nursery is not the only new thing in our house. For the past 4/5 months we have been on the search for a new couch. They were either to expensive or to big, so on. We finally found one where the price was right! We were able to pick a fabric we loved and have it custom built. They said 8 to 10 week wahhh wahhh. Well thanks to a christmas miracle it showed up in a months time!
Here is what our living room looked before
And here is what it looks like now! It’s going to take some getting use to, but I LOVE IT!!
The rocking chair will go where the tree is now.
That back left corner is kinda bugging me, but what can I do? I’m also not crazy about the couch not being centered under the window but again it fits better this way. SO welcome to the world my new baby… couch!
I think I’m falling in love with this room It’s not like any room I’ve ever put together. And can I say I’m even shocked on how girly it’s looking and I don’t hate it!! This weekend I wanted to start hanging a few items I’ve had tucked away. A mirror I bought MONTHS ago, curtains, and wall shelves. We only got the curtains up and mirror, which is fine by me (trying to take my time).
Funny story about the mirror, I saw something like it on one of my favorite blogs younghouselove awhile back. After my 1st doctors appointment (8weeks along) I hit up the homegoods right down the road. While wondering around I saw a mirror very similar to the one Sherry and John used in their nursery. I thought “well if we have a girl this would be super cute over the crib”. Glad that all worked out 😉
I also bought crib bedding, I’ll be honest I’m sure I spent to much for it but I LOVE IT!! It came in a cute bedding bag which got me thinking. I could use it and make a pillow for the rocking chair. And wah-la PILLOW.
The curtains were from Ikea, just like all the curtains in our house. So easy to put up and hem. My kinda project!
The tree is up, decor out and presents wrapped. BRING it xmas!
Over the next few months I’ll slowly be adding more and more to the nursery. It’s taking everything in me not to just finish the whole room RIGHT NOW! I’ve had many girl friends tease me about this (they know me to well). Heres the room all empty ready to be dressed for beebee.
It’s really not the biggest room at 9×10 feet, but all empty it feels bigger then when it was my office. Now for a sneak peek
check out boose (our cat) playing in the packing material. Coming up next building the crib you know you are just SO excited … uuhh
Yes I know I’m jumping the gun here, but it’s how I do! We recently found out we are having a baby girl. Now I’m not a girly girl, but I thought she should have a semi girly room. I had originally wanted to do light grey, but seemed drab for a bebe-bebe girl. I settled on a grey/purple, called charcoal heather by Olympic. Olympic paint is a no VOC paint which is best for me and babe right now. Not to mention its only 23 bucks a gallon ( a bargain in NO VOC paint world).
Now lets take a look back at was once my office…
All cleared out
and now how it ended up
more to come in the next few months 😉
