Well I think I have reached the end of the nursery decorating. The room we had to work with is very small coming in at 8×9, perfect size for a nursery or office. I was a bit nervous it wasn’t all going to fit at 1st, but we got it all it.
Take a gander
The nursery is not the only new thing in our house. For the past 4/5 months we have been on the search for a new couch. They were either to expensive or to big, so on. We finally found one where the price was right! We were able to pick a fabric we loved and have it custom built. They said 8 to 10 week wahhh wahhh. Well thanks to a christmas miracle it showed up in a months time!
Here is what our living room looked before
And here is what it looks like now! It’s going to take some getting use to, but I LOVE IT!!
The rocking chair will go where the tree is now.
That back left corner is kinda bugging me, but what can I do? I’m also not crazy about the couch not being centered under the window but again it fits better this way. SO welcome to the world my new baby… couch!
Yes I know I’m jumping the gun here, but it’s how I do! We recently found out we are having a baby girl. Now I’m not a girly girl, but I thought she should have a semi girly room. I had originally wanted to do light grey, but seemed drab for a bebe-bebe girl. I settled on a grey/purple, called charcoal heather by Olympic. Olympic paint is a no VOC paint which is best for me and babe right now. Not to mention its only 23 bucks a gallon ( a bargain in NO VOC paint world).
Now lets take a look back at was once my office…
All cleared out
and now how it ended up
more to come in the next few months 😉
We have this odd sized closet in the hallway. It’s to far off the floor to be a utility closet and there are no shelves so not a linen closet.
When we moved in we removed the door and never did anything to the nook that was left. It became a catch all of change and my jewelry. For a long time I thought it would be nice to build shelves to finish off the hallway look. Here is my work in progress…
I still have to add trim to hide the furring strips and quarter round on the bottom shelf and it will be done! I know you can’t wait to see the whole thing.
From time to time I get bored… this is the time the hubs might want to run away and hide. I was looking at our guest room and kinda sick of it. The blue was never the right blue. Still love the chocolate brown, but needed a change. I had originally bought new grey quilt for our master with a West Elm gift card (Thanks Matt & Carol). I love it, but got to thinking “this might be the right change that the guest room needs”. I also had the white curtains laying around.
Take a look at the before:
Now the After:
(the armoire is going to go, it’s on its last leg)
So there we go a pretty much free redo! I like how much lighter it looks and open!
Remember way back when, I started the EASY basement bathroom reno? Yeah me either 🙂
Any who we hit a few road bumps and I had to bring in a plumber to help finish the job. So much for an easy quick project. After taking a look at the plumbing he was shock that there were no shut offs either. A few hours of him banging around the old sink was out and I was able to install the new floor. Which would have been easy if the floor was square. Cutting peel and stick tile out around pipes and the toilet was not fun! He came back a few days later to put the new sink in, again not as easy as I thought it would be. Here is a peek back at the old bathroom.
Are you ready for this…?
It looks sooooo much better, yes it turned out to be a pain in the ass but some projects are just like that. Here is a side by side look.
I messed around a bit more with photoshop last night. What do you all think? YAY or NAY??
